Volunteers make what we do possible. The work they do is important and rewarding. Special folks willing to lend hand and mind to our cause are needed for a variety of tasks.

FRONT DESK RECEPTION: Volunteers are always needed to staff the reception desk. Duties include answering phones, taking messages, and performing light clerical work. Shifts are M-F, 9:00-1:00 or 1:00-5:00. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
GRAPHIC DESIGN: Volunteers are needed to perform graphic design work as it relates to invitations, newsletters, special event programs and calendars. Please contact Jay Lockaby at 921-5539.
DATA ENTRY & WORD PROCESSING: Volunteers are needed to perform light data entry as well as execute mail merges for mailings for TWC fundraisers, donations, and outreach activities. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
MAILINGS: Periodically, TWC prepares a mass mailing for fundraising or other purposes. Volunteers are needed to stuff, seal, and stamp envelopes. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
GARDENING: Volunteers are needed to tend TWC's healing butterfly garden, located at the Clark Road facility. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
CALENDAR DELIVERY: Volunteers are assigned a Calendar delivery route (i.e. Bradenton, Venice). Volunteers are asked to come to the office to pick up Calendar/Flyer bundles prepared for their routes, and deliver them to assigned offices within 24 hours. Volunteer must have a safe driving record, and be able to carry Calendar/Flyer bundles into offices, and set up for display. Volunteer is required to update, as needed, the number of Calendars/Flyers needed at each location. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
SPECIAL EVENT SUPPORT: TWC holds two major special events, the Goldman Dinner in mid-November and The Flight of Hope in late March/early April (Flight of Hope is April 2nd this year). Committee members as well as day-of-event support is needed for both of these events every year. These are fun, exciting, popular events and amount to a substantial portion of the funds TWC needs to do its work. Lots of different tasks-anyone can contribute! HEALTH FAIRS: Health Fair volunteers are required to come to the office to pick up supplies at least one day in advance of the Health Fair. Volunteer must be able to carry supplies to and from Health Fair. Volunteers are required to set up and staff TWC table at the Health Fair for its duration, answer questions and hand out literature. MONTHLY LUNCHEONS: Luncheon volunteers arrive an hour before the monthly luncheon (last Friday of the month) to help set up the kitchen and the dining area under the direction of the Hospitality Coordinator. Volunteers assist in serving the luncheon, and assist with clean-up following the luncheon. Please contact Kelly Conrad at 921-5539.
JOIN THE STRIDES FOR HOPE TEAM! Strides for Hope is TWC's annual marathon fundraiser in which walkers and runners of all ages and ability levels come together to run a marathon or half marathon and raise funds for TWC while they do so. Join our team and run, jog, or walk the ABC 7 Grouper Run Marathon and 1/2 Marathon right here in Sarasota, on March 7, 2007. Each member makes a commitment to raise $2,200 and in return receives not only the thrill of a lifetime and heartfelt satisfaction for furthering the cause, but also:
- A comprehensive personalized training program including coach Flo Entler (official Coach of the Grouper Run)
- Paid entry fees
- Team apparel, including training shirts and race day singlets
- Pre-race pasta party and Post-race concert

Strides for Hope runners are often cancer survivors or someone running in memory or honor of a cancer survivor!
