The Wellness Community of Southwest Florida

The Wellness Community is a national organization with local affiliates -there are 22 Wellness Communities across the United States and two international affiliates, in Tokyo, Japan and Tel Aviv, Israel. The Southwest Florida TWC facility is located on Clark Road in Sarasota, with satellite program offerings in Longboat Key, Bradenton, Venice, and Newtown. Since opening the Southwest Florida offices in 1996, more than 5,000 people have utilized TWC services.

The Wellness Community offers a wide variety of programs, always at no charge, and all intended to help cancer patients and their loved ones play an active role in the recovery process. TWC programming is offered in a home-like setting where people with cancer and their caregivers join a community of others fighting the same disease. Services include professionally facilitated support groups, relaxation and visualization sessions, light exercise programs, nutrition workshops, and educational programs. All services are offered to both cancer patients and their caregivers.

The Wellness Community philosophy regarding the outcomes of our services is that by utilizing TWC services, cancer patients will improve the quality of their lives and may enhance the possibility of their recovery.

The mission of The Wellness Community is to help people affected by cancer enhance their health and well-being through participation in a professional program of support, education and hope.
